Library Offers Digital Magazine Downloads

All patrons of the library can use the new program, Zinio.

The Library of the Chathams recently launched a new program that allows patrons to download and view their favorite magazines online.

It's all made possibly by Zinio, an online magazine service. Unlike digital book rentals from the library, which only one patron can use at a time, Zinio allows multiple users to download and view the same magazine at the same time, without holds or checkout periods.

Jay Chatterjee, head of reference at the Library of the Chathams, said, "patrons can download as many magazines as they like" using Zinio. Also, "some magazines have interactive elements such as audio and video."
