Food Allergies and Fish and Chips

A preview of what to look for this week on Chatham Patch.

This week the Chatham Borough Mayor and Council will vote on a resolution to formally introduce the 2011 budget, which has a tax levy increase of 3.13 percent over last year. The average tax levy increase over the last five years in the borough has been 4.30 percent; from 2009 to 2010, the tax levy increase was 1.71 percent.

This week for You Said It, our daily video series, we are asking Chathamites to tell us their favorite jokes for April Fool's Day. If you or your kids want to see your joke on Chatham Patch, come to the Library of the Chathams Monday between 3 and 5 p.m. and show us what you've got!

Tuesday:

Check back Tuesday for coverage from the Board of Education meeting. This week the board will vote on the school budget for the 2011-12 academic year, which residents will vote on April 27.

Wednesday:

This week in the Moms Council, we'll be discussing how parents coordinate with their kids' schools and clubs to deal with severe food allergies. Come by Wednesday and join the conversation.

Thursday:

The weekly View Finder column brings photo galleries from community events in the Chathams. This week our lenses will be pointed at the Kiwanis Club of the Chathams' Fish & Chips Dinner, which happens at Chatham High School Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

Friday:

Spring sports begin at Chatham High School, and Chatham Patch will be there to cover the season premiere of some of your favorite teams.
