Follow Animal Footsteps at Great Swamp

Ever wanted to learn how to climb or help someone else reach the top of the wall?  will hold a belay certification class Tuesday night. On Wednesday, children can learn more about animal tracks at the .

Here's what else is happening this week:

Monday—The School District of the Chathams Board of Education will meet at the at 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday— hosts a private Belay Certification Class and open climb session from 6:45 to 10 p.m. The cost of the certification class is $35 for New Jersey Young Professional members and $40 for non-members. Advance registration required.

Wednesday—The Great Swamp Outdoor Education Center hosts On the Right Track, a program designed for children to learn what animal tracks can tell you about the species. The program, which costs $5, will run from 6 to 9 p.m., and is geared for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Registration is required.

Thursday—The Chatham Township Committee will meet at the at 7 p.m.

Friday—The boys and girls fencing teams host Hackettstown High School at 6 p.m.

Saturday—The second-seeded girls basketball team faces No. 7 Morris Knolls in the Morris County Tournament quarterfinals in Rockaway at 3 p.m.

Sunday—The Frelinghuysen Arboretum hosts Mad for Maple Syrup. Geared for children ages 6 and up, the program demonstrates how syrup is made and allows children to taste samples, eat pancakes, tap a tree, see a cooking demonstration and learn how maple syrup can be used. The event runs from 1 to 3 p.m., and costs $20 per family. Registration is required. For more information, call 973-326-7601.
