The Senior Center of the Chathams runs a friendship and support group for women called Reflections.  Micki Chaput RN, Executive Director of Senior Services Center describes Reflections as a program for ladies age 60 and up, that encourages women to experience the strength the comes through the power of friendship with other women experiencing similar life transitions.  "Participation in Reflections,” states Chaput, has created wonderful new friendships and support.  It has helped participants make important decisions about their lives by sharing their experiences, resources and ideas.  The program provides an avenue for women, especially those new to the area or recently retired or widowed, to meet new people and make new friends in a caring, warm and safe environment where empathy, understanding and support are paramount.  Since a professional group leader facilitates, confidentiality is ensured and we can provide a safe, comfortable setting for our groups".

Reflections is facilitated by area resident Christine Hester.  Chris is a professional Social Worker with much experience leading support groups.  She became the facilitator of Reflections in September of 2008.  Her group meets every Tuesday from 2 – 3 pm.

Area women age 60 and up, interested in joining the Reflections program or needing further information about Reflections should call Micki Chaput at the Chatham Senior Center, (973) 635-4565.

The Senior Center of Chatham is operated by Senior Services Center of the Chathams, Inc., a not for profit organization serving residents of Chatham Township, Chatham Borough and Green Village.  Senior Services also provides curb to curb senior bus service three days per week for residents 60 and older, able to board the bus without assistance.  For more information about Senior Services call the Senior Center at 973-635-4565.
