Ceremonies Celebrate Memorial Day in Township, Borough

Officials will honor those who died serving their country at war memorials at library and on Green Village Road.

The borough and township will recognize Memorial Day with a pair of ceremonies Monday morning.

There will be a ceremony at the borough's war memorials at the Library of the Chathams starting at 8 a.m. Wreaths will be laid on the memorials, "Taps" will be played and Mayor Bruce Harris will speak.

The township will also lay wreaths at its war memorial on Green Village Road across from the Green Village Fire Department at 8 a.m. Township officials will then march in Harding Township's parade at 9 a.m.

Madison will also hold a ceremony at 9 a.m. followed by a parade through downtown starting at 9:30 a.m.
