Bookmark Winners Promote 'Digging Into Reading'

Winners of the Library of the Chathams' annual bookmark contest were recently announced.

Laura Weinbrom, the head of the Childrens Department of the Library of the Chathams, announced the winners of the bookmark contest.

A total of 221 children ages 12 and under who participate in the Summer Reading Club at the created original bookmarks promoting the annual reading competition. 

"Children were asked to design and color a bookmark that best described their feelings about the library," Weinbraum said, and bookmarks which illustrated the Reading Club's theme of "Dig Into Reading."

The bookmarks were on display in the library foyer throughout July, and over 1,000 people cast their votes for their favorite bookmark in each age group.

"The bookmarks will be reproduced and made available to the public as official Library of the Chathams bookmarks," Weinbraum said.
