Local children vie for biggest fish in this Chatham tradition.

On Saturday and Sunday, parents and children gathered at Kelley's Pond for the 47th annual Small Fry Fishing Derby, a tradition.

Each year, hundreds of children ages 13 and under camp out at the pond behind to demonstrate their skills with rods and reels.

The child who catches the biggest fish over the span of the weekend will win the Bill Weichert trophy–decorated with the likeness of a fish at the top and named after a deceased member of the –and a new rod, reel and net.
