SEND THE NIFTY KNITTERS TO THE LION BRAND STORE!

The Nifty Knitters is a 30 member charity knitting group that meets weekly at Senior Services of the Chathams. This group knits baby and chemo hats for local hospitals and lap rugs for veterans a Lyons VA Hospital.  Each year they produce 1,000-1,200 handmade items that are donated to needy individuals.

“We are honoring our knitters by selling the Shop for a Cause passes,” said Pam Mansfield Executive Director of Senior Services of the Chathams.  “The first 100 coupons we sell will be used to rent a bus to take the knitters to the Lion Brand yarn store in Carlsbadt, NJ  for lunch and a tour.” According to Mansfield earlier this year, Lion Brand Yarn donated a box of its yarn to the knitting group and invited the group to come tour its store.

Senior Services Center of the Chathams is selling Macys Shop for a Cause passes good for a one-day sale on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at any Macys in the country.  The 25% discount coupon is good all day long and can be reused multiple times during the day.  Stop by the Senior Center at 58 Meyersville Rd. or call 973.635.4565 for more information or to purchase a pass.
