Kathy Byers Kicks Off "Lights On After School" Celebrations at the Work-Family Connection!

On October 17th, 1 million Americans and thousands of communities nationwide will celebrate Lights On Afterschool to increase awareness for the continued need for quality after school programs.

Local singer/songwriter Kathy Byers kicked off the week-long celebration at the Work-Family Connection at the Milton Avenue School on Tuesday afternoon.

Kathy performed some of her favorite songs with the children and began writing a song with them about the After School “Lights On” celebration. Her latest CD titled “One Earth So Green and Round” features new songs about the environment including “Why Do Turtles Cross the Road”? and “We Study Frogs.” Celebrating ten years as a children's artist, Kathy Byers of Chatham, New Jersey has performed throughout the Northeast including venues such as Musikfest, International Child Art Foundation, Brooklyn Public Libraries, Kidzone TV and the Children's Music Hall of Fame.


The Work-Family Connection, opened in 1989 and its programs are licensed and nationally accredited with qualified, nurturing staff.
