Grief Support Program looking for Volunteers

The Center for Life Transition (CFLT), set up in 1999 by Scott Bradley, MSW, CT, NCPsyA, owner of Bradley Funeral Homes in Chatham, is looking to recruit and train new volunteers for its' Bereavement Support Program, which is free to anyone who has suffered the death of a loved one.

"Volunteers are a highly valued part of the grief encounter and we will not be able to achieve our goal of expanding grief services without the dedicated support of volunteers," says Ms. Doreen Hall, Aftercare Coordinator for the CFLT. "We want to encourage people to volunteer, especially those that have experienced bereavement themselves."

"Volunteers, who have experienced their own grief journey, can better identify with the struggles of those going through the bereavement process, enabling them to empathize with their sorrows and offer valuable support," continues Ms. Hall.  "Our only criteria for new volunteers is that they be bereaved for more than one year, that they are able to commit 2-3 hours per month to the Center, and that they attend an initial training session."

Anyone interested in volunteering should contact Ms. Hall directly via email: Doreen@bradleyfuneralhomes.com or by phone at: (973) 665-1782, ext. 3
