Enroll Now for Kindergarten at the F.M. Kirby Children’s Center of the Madison Area YMCA
Prepare your child for the academic rigors of the area’s top-notch elementary schools with a Kirby kindergarten education. Applications are being accepted now.
Taught in a small class-size setting by a teaching team that includes a state-certified lead teacher who holds a master’s degree in early childhood education, the curriculum exceeds New Jersey core content standards. Students leave Kirby kindergarten with well-developed academic, social and emotional skills that prepare them to confidently transition to, and succeed in, any first grade program.
The program provides individualized, experiential learning opportunities that support and reinforce key concepts in mathematics, language arts, science and social studies. Kirby kindergartners learn Singapore Math, a highly successful and widely recognized mathematics program that utilizes strategies and materials used in Singapore, the world leader in math competency. Students hone pre-reading and writing skills and take classes in foreign language, music and gym. They also participate in field trips. Nutritionist-approved hot lunch and snacks are served daily.

The F.M. Kirby Children’s Center sits on a 3-acre campus with playgrounds. A pediatric nurse is on staff. For families who need extended care, Kirby offers both early drop off at 7 a.m. and wraparound care until 6:00 p.m. or extended care until 6:45 p.m.
The Center is a member of the prestigious New Jersey YMCA State Alliance and a participating partner in the Horizon Foundation for New Jersey initiative to implement school-based food, nutrition and physical education programs.
