Community Update

Today, ECLC of New Jersey's school in Chatham for students with special needs welcomed a contingent of enthusiastic college students from Fuji
Women's University in Japan, who are studying to become teachers.

They spent the day touring the school and observing classrooms to learn more about U.S. techniques and
methods for teaching children with special needs, such as autism, Down syndrome
and severe learning disabilities, that they might take back to their home country.

The visit was arranged through the College of Saint
Elizabeth, which has hosted students from Fuji for many years.  This was the first group of students who were exclusively studying to become educators.
