DESCRIPTION:&nbsp\; Join us on August 26th at 4pm for a performance by th
 e Libby Prison Minstrels. This fun group brings the songs of the Civil W
 ar to life in an entertaining and historically accurate way. The Minstre
 ls have been performing the since the early 1990s with their guitar\, ma
 ndo...lin\, banjo\, percussion\, bass and three part vocal harmonies. Th
 ey have performed for audiences from New England to Florida. The music i
 s kept to the original styles with careful attention to a connection to 
 the history and sounds of the period. Their moving 1861 version of the N
 ational Anthem has been performed in prestigious locations such as the N
 ew Jersey State House\, Ford&rsquo\;s Theater and the U.S. Capitol. Afte
 r a fantastic performance to open the Civil War exhibit at the Museum la
 st fall\, we welcome the Minstrels back to entertain an even bigger audi

  page.The Minstrels will perform in the garden at 4pm. Visitors will hav
 e the opportunity to explore through a variety of summer blooms in the g
 arden and relax on the large lawn during the program. Guests may bring p
 icnics\, blankets or chairs and settle back for a late afternoon of grea
 t music in a beautiful setting. We are delighted to welcome the Deliciou
 s Ice Cream Company with their fully restored 1950 custom truck and auth
 entic ice cream man dressed in that same old fashioned outfit you rememb
 er as a kid. A variety of treats will be on sale throughout the performa
 nce. Tickets can be purchased from 1pm on performance day and will give 
 guests an opportunity to experience Macculloch Hall Historical Museum be
 fore heading out to the garden for the concert. The museum is open for t
 ours of the home and galleries from 1pm\, with the last house tour leavi
 ng at 3pm. In keeping with the performance\, enjoy the current exhibit T
 he Other Side of War: The Civil War on the Home Front. Life on the home 
 front was not easy for loved ones whom the soldiers left behind. Women p
 layed an important role in the Union war effort\; starting the U.S. Sani
 tary Commission\, serving as nurses\, gathering goods and raising money 
 for the soldiers all contributed to the Union victory. The exhibit featu
 res letters to loved ones back home\, Lincoln memorabilia from the Museu
 m's collection including a plate from his White House china\, and a docu
 ment signed by Lincoln as President and the Secretary of War. The Museum
  will remain open until 4pm when the performance begins. Admission is Ad
 ults $8\; Seniors &amp\; Students $6\; Children 6 &ndash\; 12 $4. Member
 s and children under 5 are free. Please no dogs during programs in the g
 arden. We are pleased to offer accessible restroom facilities during gar
 den events this summer. In the case of inclement weather the performance
  will be moved indoors. The announcement will be made on the Museum&rsqu
 o\;s main phone message on performance day. Macculloch Hall Historical M
 useum preserves the history of the Macculloch-Miller families\, the Morr
 is area community\, and the legacy of its founder W. Parsons Todd throug
 h its historic site\, collections\, exhibits\, and educational and cultu
 ral programs. It is located in the heart of Morristown&rsquo\;s National
  Historic District. The Museum is open to tour the house and view exhibi
 ts on Wednesdays\, Thursdays &amp\; Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. General Adm
 ission: The last tickets for admission are sold at 3 p.m. Please note th
 e Museum is closed Wednesday July 4th for the Independence Day holiday a
