DESCRIPTION:The Senior Center of the Chathams runs three support groups f
 or older  women called Reflections. Micki Chaput\, RN\, Executive Direct
 or  of the Senior Services Center\, describes Reflections as a program  
 for ladies age 55 and up that encourages women to experience the strengt
 h  the comes through the power of friendship with other women experienci
 ng  similar life transitions.&nbsp\;\n"At the Chatham Center\, and in  o
 ur other site in Madison\," states Chaput\, "participation  in Reflectio
 ns has created wonderful new friendships and support. It has helped part
 icipants make important decisions about their lives  by sharing their ex
 periences\, resources and ideas. The program  provides an avenue for wom
 en\, especially those new to the area or recently  retired or widowed\, 
 to meet new people and make new friends in a caring\,  warm and safe env
 ironment where empathy\, understanding and support are  paramount. Since
  a professional group leader facilitates\, confidentiality  is ensured a
 nd we can provide a safe\, comfortable setting for our groups."\nReflect
 ions  2 is facilitated by area resident Christine Hester. Chris is a  pr
 ofessional Social Worker with much experience leading support groups.  S
 he became the facilitator of Reflections 2 in September of 2008\, and  i
 s hoping to increase participation in the program.\nThe  Senior Center a
 lso hosts the original Reflections  group which meets every Friday morni
 ng and is facilitated by Laura  Wise\, an art therapist and a resident o
 f Chatham Township.  This group  is at full capacity and unable to accep
 t new members currently.  A third  Reflections group meets monthly at Ch
 ateau Thierry in Madison under  the facilitation of Carolyn Knott\, MSW\
 , and board member of Senior Services  Center of the Chathams.&nbsp\; Op
 enings are available in this group by  calling 973-635-2387.\nArea  wome
 n age 65 and up who are interested in joining the Reflections program  o
 r who need further information about Reflections should call Chaput at t
 he Chatham Senior Center at 973-635-4565.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;\nF
 unding  for the Reflections programs has come from the Fannie Knistrom  
 Foundation\, a long time supporter of the Reflections program\, the Chat
 ham  United Methodist Church\, and the Gannett Foundation.\nThe  Senior 
 Center of Chatham is operated by Senior Services Center of the  Chathams
 \, Inc.\, a not-for-profit organization serving older residents  of Chat
 ham Township\, Chatham Borough and Green Village.&nbsp\; Senior  Service
 s also provides curb to curb senior bus service three days per  week for
  residents 65 and older who are able to board the bus without assistance
 .
