DESCRIPTION:Tour of the &nbsp\;Native Wildlife Habitat/stormwater retenti
 on basin adjacent to the Southern Blvd School parking lot at 6:00 p.m. o
 n Sunday August 12th. Matt Palmer\, Ph.D.\, professor of Biology at Colo
 mbia University\, and member of the Chatham Twp Environmental Commission
 \, will show us the native and invasive plant life and the fauna that th
 e habitat supports. &nbsp\; All are welcome to arrive before the tour to
  help high school students mulch and pull invasive species from 4 to 6 p
 .m.&nbsp\;The habitat was started in 2005 through a grant from the Natur
 al Resource Conservation Service. High School student Sophie Kapica is i
 n the process of certifying it as a Monarch Butterfly Way Station. &nbsp
 \;If Chatham Township officials and Southern Blvd School teachers and PT
 O are active with the habitat\, the Township can also receive Sustainabl
 e Jersey Points for the habitat/retention basin as a demonstration "rain
  garden."\nNaturalists\, gardeners\, teachers and all are welcome!
