Chatham Cub Scouts - Pack 8 recently delivered 200 sustainable lunches to Bridges Outreach, Summit.
The donation was a product of a night of collaboration between the scouts and their families during a pack meeting dedicated to Citizenship and Community Responsibility.
The 70+ scouts were very excited to help others in the community and Bridges Outreach provided the connection to those in need. Each scout assembled 2 - 3 lunches from food donated by the Pack 8 family for distribution to the homeless in Newark and Irvington.
The sustainable lunches assembled were comprised of non-perishable food and included a tuna meal, box drink, fruit cup, granola bar, salty snack and a dessert. The scouts also included a personal message with each lunch as well.
Pack 8 plans to run other food drives and charitable events in the future to benefit local causes.
