Chatham Township Police said a car accident along Shunpike Road sent a woman to Overlook Hospital after she complained of wrist pain.

The accident took place at about 6 p.m. Monday at the intersection at Green Village Road near the Chatham Mall. A woman entered the intersection in an attempt to turn left onto Green Village Road when she was struck by an oncoming car traveling east on Shunpike Road, police said.

The second driver, described by police as a male, was able to drive away from the accident.

Police were still on the scene at 7 p.m. though the accident had been cleared. The Green Village Fire Department also responded.
