What Are You Giving Up for Lent?

It's not too late to get ashes in the Chathams.

One traditional observance of Lent, the season between Ash Wednesday and Easter Sunday, is to find something one enjoys to abstain from.

Some people give up chocolate or candy. Some give up video games or television, or Facebook.

Chatham Patch wants to know, what are you giving up for Lent this year, and why?

For those who haven't received ashes yet, here are some evening services in town:

St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church: Ashes and Mass at 7:30 p.m.

The Episcopal Church of St. Paul: 7 p.m.

Chatham United Methodist Church: 7:30 p.m.

Gloria Dei Lutheran Church: 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church: 7:30 p.m.
