Truck Collides with Hillside Avenue Bridge
Police said the truck driver was issued a summons for careless driving.
Chatham Borough Police said the NJ Transit overpass bridge on Hillside Avenue was struck by a box truck Wednesday at 5:07 p.m.
Sgt. Ralph Colatrela investigated the accident on Hillside Avenue Wednesday, according to police.
He found a box truck driven by Hassan Ismail, 43, of Prospect Park had struck the overpass bridge, which is 11 ft. 10 in. high, police said.
Ismail was not injured, and was issued a summons for careless driving and driving on a street with a 4-ton limit with a truck, police said.
