Tai Chi, Healthy Recipes at Farmers Market
The market, along with the Mayors Wellness Campaign, offer easy ways to stay healthy this Saturday.
If you need some exercise, or just a way to make healthy eating a little more appetizing, look no further than the Chatham Borough Farmers Market Saturday.
Saint Barnabas Medical Center, a primary sponsor of the Chatham Mayors Wellness Campaign, presents free tai chi and cooking demonstrations this weekend. The weekend begins with Sal Iorio, a tai chi instructor at The Chatham Club, who will offer an introductory class beginning at 9 a.m. at the borough gazebo.
After the class ends, attendees can cross the street to the Chatham Borough Farmers Market, where Jesse Kraft, a chef at Saint Barnabas hospital, will prepare food using groceries from the market.
Kraft begins his cooking demonstration at 10 a.m., with a free tasting at 11. Both can be found at the Mayors Wellness Campaign booth at the market.
Kraft has done this demonstration at past Farmers Markets in Chatham. In the past he has offered healthy cooking tips for shoppers while he prepared his meal, and given copies of the recipes to any interested.
These events are presented in cooperation with Sodexo, an integrated food and facilities management service provider, along with The Mayor’s Wellness Campaign and The Chatham Borough Farmers’ Market.
