Sandy Claims 3 Lives in Morris County
A fallen tree killed two people in a pickup truck in Mendham, and an 84-year-old man died of a heart attack while preparing for the storm in Kinnelon.
Hurricane Sandy was linked to three deaths in Morris County on Monday.
A man and woman were killed in Mendham on Monday night when a tree fell on their pickup truck, while two children who were in the vehicle survived.
Earlier in the day, Kinnelon police said an 84-year-old man died of a heart attack while he was outside his home preparing for the storm.
Other instances of injuries and property damage from the storm were reported.
A Butler man was taken to Morristown Medical Center after a tree snapped and struck his head while he was in his backyard, police said. And in Parsippany, a massive oak tree punctured the roof of a home.
