It's interesting that people have to pay to hear our elected officials speak. This should be handled on a voluntary donation basis.

When the party's theme is - we have money, you don't, screw you - why would you expect anything else?

Al....Patch deleted from the press release that the price of $30 a ticket included beer, wine, a pasta dinner and dessert.

Yeah, pasta, that's the real point. Thanks for clearing that up Jerry.

I do like Kean and Bramnick, but Frelinghuysen has proven he's no more than a pawn of the far right. Hopefully there's more of his dad in Kean than there is of those running the wayward state and national party now. Meanwhile, the high point of my week was getting my Dogs Against Romney bumper sticker. I hear talk of a new one coming out that changes color with the weather.

When did you become Gail Collins?
If anyone needs one, I have plenty of "Obama's Whine and Cheese Party" bumper stickers. But don't wait too long, they're going like hotcakes.

After yesterday's partisan hack job by the Dems on the Senate Judiciary committee, I'm amazed that anyone would put up a post trying to pretend that only Republicans are partisan, pawns or "wayward."

Ironic that a person who calls himself/herself "Freedom of Speech," isn't familiar with the entire First Amendment, especially the part about "the right of the people peaceably to assemble!"

It is exactly what this town and country needs to try to educate the obama supporters who don't see that hes doubled the debt, is going to drown us in obamacare and ruined the economy,ect....we have to save you from yourselves. I know, I know, hes just so dreamy! Wake up 41% who still approve of him...hes intentionally throwing us all under the bus! He has to go.

Julia, the Repubs have been so good at distorting the facts, you just spout their line without any accuracy. Go to 10:24 of the following clip (if you don't want to watch it all): http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26315908/#46816690. You of course will say that she's lying, except, sorry, it can be substantiated easily enough. This is one of the main reasons the GOP (which I used to belong to) has become so scary.

I guess you couldn't find a better clip from one of the other great past or current MSNBC "truthtellers" like Keith Olbermann.
As for the Great ObamaCare lie - How about the one that it was going to provide over $100B in deficit reduction in the first decade alone. Oh well, that one's gone out the window - http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2010/05/cbo-health-care-bill-will-cost-115-billion-more-than-previously-assessed/ (Does that make Ms Maddow a liar or just a fool for believing the hype?)
The more time that passes, the greater the realization that this entitlement program will do nothing but blow a huge hole in the Federal deficit. Does anyone remember how big a gap their was between the original CBO estimate for Medicare for its first decade of operation and the actual cost?
And don't forget, to make the numbers work the legislature still has to cut $500B out of Medicare funding. Does anyone think that will ever happen?
So please, stop pretending that it's the Republicans who are the Great Distorters.
