That's a lot of toys.
The Morris County Park Police have again led an effort seeking donations and distributing toys for children of all ages in need for the holidays.
Once known as “Saddle Up for Toys,” a program began in 2002 by Sgt. Timmy Albine has grown into a massive annual donation program. This season, in memory of Albine, the toy drive has been renamed the “Timmy Albine Memorial Toy Drive." Now, in its 10th year, over 4,200 toys were collected and are now being distributed throughout Morris County and areas of
New Jersey hit by Hurricane Sandy.
With the assistance of Morris County residents, Morris County Park Commission, the Republican National Headquarters, Morristown-Beard School, and Exxon’s Retired Executives program, the Park Police of the Morris County Park Commission collected and donated the toys for the holidays.
The Morris County Park Police exceeded their annual goal of reaching as many families as possible this holiday season.
“It is a privilege and a joy to help make the holiday season brighter for children and families,” said program coordinator Sgt. Gabe DiPietro of the Morris County Park Police.
