Gallop Endorses Nonnenmacher for Committee
The sitting township committee member writes a Letter to the Editor supporting Nonnenmacher's candidacy.
I am proud to endorse Laura Ali Nonnenmacher for the open seat on the Chatham Township Committee in the Republican primary June 5.
I have been privileged to serve on the Committee for the past five years. Working together the Committee has successfully kept taxes under control with no tax increase for the past two years while maintaining services up to the high standards expected by Township residents. Laura is a lifelong Republican who believes in limited government. I am confident she will continue the priority of the Committee when it comes to fiscal discipline. She is a small business owner who understands that less government is better government.
Laura will also bring a fresh perspective to the Committee. She has a history of volunteerism. She and her husband John have three young children in the Chatham public school system. Laura has served as President of the Southern Boulevard School PTO, where my children have attended school. Being a President is a leadership position that requires work every day to make the PTO successful. She went above and beyond by initiating new events to engage the community, starting evening PTO meetings to accommodate working moms and raising a significant amount of privately raised money for the school. She also volunteers with Chatham United soccer as a co-parent manager and has been a member of the Chatham Township Republican Committee with me for over six years.
Laura has been a resident of Chatham Township for 19 years and her parents still reside here. She truly has a feel for what makes Chatham great and desires nothing more than to volunteer her time to make sure that Chatham maintains the unique charm that makes it a great place to live.
I heartily endorse her for the open seat on the Chatham Township Committee and urge all Republicans to vote for her in the June 5 primary.
