Time For Springtime Ladies Shopping Night
Chatham businesses will stay open late to offer discounts, raffles and food tastings on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m.
The weather promises to be beautiful for Chatham’s fourth Ladies Shopping Night, now held twice a year.
“We’re all trying to work together to bring people downtown,” says Lori Medico, owner of Bliss Clothing and Accessories, who started the concept two years ago working with other businesses in Chatham. “It’s been growing—we now have more participants than ever before,” she added.
Participants have some amazing deals making it definitely worth the trip downtown to shop. Almost all of the 11 stores and restaurants are offering discounts and many are offering a free gift with purchase including Bliss, DJ Crater and new storefront Quartet, which is also celebrating its grand opening Thursday.
The European Market, Home Sweet Home and Bliss are offering 15 percent off of entire purchases while DJ Crater has a sweet deal with 20 percent off accessories. Jabberwocky is having a storewide sale. Spring Street Dezigns also has special offers.
Another new Chatham business, Kitchen Intuitions, opened in January and the business is joining the festivities with a raffle to win a travel bag with $100 of hair products (donated by Freedom Salon). “We are thrilled to see the town doing a Ladies Night Out,” says president Bob Gockeler, who added that he had been looking for things to participate in and hopes to see more fun events.
Raffles are big this spring with several merchants offering some great prizes. DJ Crater has a drawing for a basket valued at $300. TM Ward also offers chances to win $75 Memorial Day gift basket and European Market has a $50 food basket. Home Sweet Home has a Summer Party basket valued at $75.
Gift cards are also popular giveaways this spring. Bliss offers women a chance to win a $100 gift card. D’Oro Italian Restaurant has a $75 gift card in its raffle and Quartet has two $50 gift cards. Thai Passion is giving away several gift certificates.
In between shopping, there are wine and cheese samplings at DJ Crater, Bliss, European Market, Home Sweet Home) and food samplings at TM Ward.
Borough Mayor Nelson Vaughan, a big supporter of the event, will be among those attending the festivities.
