The Chatham Athletic Foundation (CAF) held their 2011 Fall Gala Friday evening at the Madison Hotel in Morris Township.

CAF unveiled a video of the construction at Shunpike Field by Tom Salvas. CAF provided $350,000 of the $1.05 million for Shunpike, and held a Buy-A-Brick campaign to help pay for lights on the field.

The gala featured dinner, dancing, and the live auction by borough resident Bob Papa. Prizes from the auction included a Disney Hotel accommodation, a vacation home in Playa del Carmen, 10 tickets to the NY Giants-Bills game and sideline experience, an Avalon beach house for one week in August, and a wine tasting party for 16 people from Gary’s Wine and Marketplace.

Fundraising from the gala will go toward CAF's projects in the coming year.

The CAF is a nonprofit organization that raises money to improve the Chatham sports programs and athletic facilities in conjunction with the local governments.
