Valentine's Day has a way of sneaking up on you. But here at Chatham Patch, we try to make it a little easier by providing you with a few ideas of where to make your reservation for Valentine's Day.

Restaurant Serenade

Since Restaurant Serenade opened in 1996, chef James Laird has brought French-influenced food with wine pairings. The upscale restaurant is located on Roosevelt Avenue just outside the hustle and bustle of downtown.

This Valentine's Day Serenade has planned a special four-course menu for $125 per person. The meal includes a panache with Nantucket bay scallops and Wellfleet oysters, a ravioli with braised beef short ribs and black truffles, a choice of lobster, halibut, beef or lamb for the main entree and a sampler dessert which includes pineapple coconut ice cream and a passion fruit bombe.

Mitsuba

Chatham's downtown sushi restaurant is a favorite for Valentine's Day. Mitsuba, which opened in 2006, features traditional Japanese sushi rolls and more conventional American sushi rolls, plus some more creative original rolls. Or if raw fish isn't your idea of a romantic dinner, there are also beef, chicken, seafood and vegetarian entrees available from the kitchen.

Gregorio's

Gregorio's was named the best Italian restaurant in Chatham last year. The restaurant specializes in Italian-Mediterranean food, including pasta, lamb, fish, pork and chicken dishes.

A great place to celebrate a special birthday—and of course, their food is consistently wonderful. Portions are good size, service is great, decent prices for an excellent meal- what more could you ask for?

Scalini Fedeli

Scalini Fedeli is one of the restaurants that brings a taste of New York City to the suburbs. A sister restaurant by the same name is located in TriBeCa, and both routinely get fantastic reviews. Chef Michael Cetrulo creates Italian dishes with French influences, and in 2003 was rated the No. 1 restaurant in New Jersey by Zagat.

Cafe Beethoven

This Chatham staple is more than the bakery and coffee shop visible from Main Street. The rear of Cafe Beethoven offers formal dining with original dishes from owner Andy Copp offers pasta, beef and chicken dishes, soups and salads at an affordable rate--and with its location at the intersection of Main Street and Fairmount Avenue, you're sure to run into familiar faces there.

D'Oro

In case you hadn't noticed, Italian food is a favorite in the area, and D'Oro delivers. The menu offers Italian favorites, from appetizers to seafood and main dishes, in a formal dining atmosphere.
