They should sue the car manufacturer since it is illegal not to have a seat belt on, I presume the seat belt malfunctioned or is it possible that they were not wearing seat belts? The article should have addressed this aspect of the accident. If they were not wearing seat belts, then they got what they deserved. If they were wearing their belts then they will be very wealthy people.

Let's go ahead and sue everyone and not take responsibility for our own actions. You are an ambulance chaser.

@ John M! I'm assuming you are not a parent by the cold and heartless statement you made@" if they were not wearing seat belts they got what they deserved" Seat belt or no seat belt Those students could have died.moreover the FDU student is still fighting for his or her life. The Intelligent statement would have been " I HOPE TO GOD NO ONE WAS DRINKING OR DRIVING! On the other hand if you are a College student you need to grow up and open your eyes. Chill out. I have 5 adult children all of whom wear seat belts. No pity for stupidity. With one child a college student, I know you have five times the experience I have with five college graduate children.

Now that's neither here nor there at any rate I'm not here to go back and forth just merely showing compassion as a Mother. I'm pretty sure your Perfect GROWN children never made stupid mistakes!!!!! And be very careful and mindful of the words you dish out. Grown children make mistakes too! Hope you never ever are put in a situation where you will have to eat your words. In closing no disrespect intent meant! My Daughter wears her seat belts! Signed a Parent of a College Student

I am sorry you cannot comprehend simple sentences. If you read what I wrote, it said and I quote, "With one child a college student... I never ventured a guess as to the number of children you have. BTW, my children made plenty of mistakes, but they never broke the law.

Never broke the law so yours were lucky. Kids make mistakes. Hopefully they learn from them. Stop being so judgemental.
