Dear Editor, November 2011
During the third week of November students at Chatham High School performed the play, Metamorphoses three times for our citizens and friends. The first performance took place Thursday afternoon, November 17
th, and was a free performance for our senior citizens. After the performance, as per recent custom, the senior citizens were invited to the high school for a sit-down dinner. There were many volunteers who made this dinner a wonderful event, and they included parents, PTO, and National Honor Society students. This play performance and dinner is a wonderful event each year, as it ties our entire community together!
There are so many folks who have volunteered their time and funds to make this performance and dinner possible, and we thank them all. However we want to especially acknowledge the remarkable generosity of several local restaurants, who cheerfully donated the meals. These local restaurants seem to turn out year after year with their generosity, no matter the business climate, and they deserved to be acknowledged publicly, thanked profusely, and supported as a community. These restaurants are:
Pascarella Brothers (34 Watchung Ave.)
Zio Ginos (650 Shunpike Rd.)
Arminio’s (236 Main St.)
Hickory Tree Pizza (641 Shunpike Rd.)
Hickory Tree Delicatessen. (648 Shunpike Rd.)
Won’t you please, the next time you frequent their fine establishments, smile and give them a warm "thank you" for their efforts and excellent citizenship? They make this bi-annual wonderful event possible, and we are grateful for their benevolence!
Sincerely,
Mary Jo Oakley, Caroline Arnuk, and Christine Newes
