Chatham Middle School Seventh-Grade Class Completes Successful Leadership Initiative Project

  • May 14, 2010

Miss Megan Anderson's seventh grade English class at Chatham Middle School took part in a Leadership Initiative Project this past week. Students had to identify what type of leader they are and were required to develop a student-led and initiated role at Chatham Middle School.

Projects include developing a summer reading list for the seventh grade students, developing work-study opportunities with staff, creating welcoming and departing banners for the incoming fifth grade and departing eighth grade and developing morning announcements. There were many others.

As a culminating activity, students participated in a community service clean up. Students walked around and cleaned up the turf at the middle school and the surrounded area.

It was a great event shared by all, and students really took the lead to make leadership happen at their school.
