Local Adult School to Offer Class on Living an Optimistic Lifestyle
The nonprofit Adult School of the Chathams, Madison and Florham Park is offering a one session class, Happiness - Living an Optimistic Lifestyle, on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 from 7:00PM – 9:00PM. The class will be held at the Chatham Middle School, 480 Main Street, Chatham.
Students will learn new ways of thinking and behaving that will make their life happier by expressing gratitude, setting life goals, and being positive. The class is being taught by Diane Lang. Therapist, Educator, author and Life Coach Diane Lang has dedicated her career to helping people turn their lives around and is now on a mission to help them develop a sustainable positive attitude that can actually turn one into an optimist, literally. A therapist and educator of Positive Psychology, she has seen that it can provide a strong foundation for finding great happiness and is gratified that it is becoming a mainstream method of treatment.
A therapist at the Universal Institute in Livingston, NJ Lang counsels patients with traumatic brain injury and substance abuse. Her clinical experience includes treating patients with different forms of mental illness, physical and emotional abuse and relationship issues. Lang is also an Adjunct in Psychology at Montclair State University; her college work includes mentoring students for individual career counseling and personal issue advisement.
As an expert in her fields of therapy, Lang has been featured in the Daily Record, Family Beautiful Magazine, Health & Beauty NJ, Family and Working Mother Magazine, seen on NJ 12 TV and the national television program “Fox & Friends”. She has also participated in a reality based Internet show, ourprisoner.com, hosted Generation X-tinet and appeared in various educational videos. In addition Lang writes a bi-weekly column In the Health section of Health & Beauty NJ magazine and shares her expertise on lifestyle issues on The WTBQ Expat Show.

In 2012 The Adult School will celebrate its 75th anniversary. The Adult School was one of the first independent, nonprofit community education organizations founded in the State of New Jersey in 1937. Students of any race, nationality and ethnic origin are welcome. There is no residence requirement.
