Girl Scouts Save Water to Earn Silver

Chatham Twp-  Three members of Girl Scout Troop 1956, Anie Shannon, Lexi Evans, and Meg Peckham are aiming for their Silver Award, and you can help them out by stopping by at the upcoming Green Fair of The Chathams! The girls are earning their Silver Award through educating the community about the advantages of using a rain barrel and water conservation. Wondering about how you can conserve water in your household? Have you ever thought about how installing a rain barrel could reduce your water consumption? Well, if you come by their booth at the Green Fair on September 11th between 9am and 2pm, you can discover new ways to conserve water, and one lucky person will have the chance to take home their very own rain barrel! You can also see a rain barrel in action at the Great Swamp Outdoor Education Center that the girls installed after the barrel was donated by the Chatham Township Environmental Commission.
